Last year Lincoln issued a recall for the front brake lines on my 2016 Lincoln MKX Reserve 2.0L twin turbo. I'm still waiting for parts. AutoZone and all the other aftermarket sellers have the parts in stock, some are even Motorcraft parts, why can't Ford get their parts from them instead of making everyone wait until somebody gets killed because of brake failure?
$ Ford has shown again and again that customer deaths are no reason to compromise profits - read up on the Pinto and Expedition scandals.
Is it really worth the money to drive around on a car with brakes you don't trust?
Have you heard of what they did with the ford pinto? They take estimates of customer deaths and calculate the lawsuit money and compare it to the recall costs. Thats how Ford has been for a while.
Look, American auto makers have gone completely downhill in reliability and quality customer service. Profit, profit, profit. Ford, GM, FCA and other vehicle manufacturers could care less. Why? Because these auto makers rarely have to be accountable. Their a$$ is covered in most cases so they can sit back and not worry. Even when the NHTSA gets involved they only give out a slap on the wrist.
They didnt make the MKX with a 2.0.
