Right now I'm just exploring different types of cars an seeing what's good and what's not, and so I was wondering if the Navigator was a decent reliable car?

Clarification: which generation?

The new ones

Not at all. Lincoln consistently finishes last or near last in multiple reliability surveys. Realize it is just a fancy Ford, and Ford has had an absolute flood of quality issues as of late.

Oh okay I know scotty likes a bunch of ford vehicles so I was thinking it might be good

I like the Navigator, but they just aren't reliable. They also use the EcoBoost engines which Scotty, and I for that matter, are not fans of. Smaller turbo engines moving big weight like that tend to wear out pretty quickly.

If you are referring to this latest generation (all new starting with 2018 model year), then the jury is still out on the longevity of it.  Realize the gas-only version comes with the 3.5L Ecoboost and 10-speed AT, and the 10 speed had some issues in other Ford vehicles out of the gate.  Long term- who knows how they will hold up, and I would not want to find out the hard way as an owner.  Also, being a Lincoln (luxury vehicle) and they are trying to compete at a higher level than ever before, it will be crammed with all the bells and whistles, and that’s another concern out of warranty.  Right now, if you want the latest generation Navigator (and I must admit I like their styling a lot), I recommend only leasing them.
