Looking to replace a total loss 2005 CVX Kluger (highlander). So far we've narrowed down to a Kia Grand Carnival, Mazda CX-9, KX Kluger or a Honda MDX. Which should I be suggesting my fiancee look at? We're in Australia & with kids in car seats need a 7 seater for space. Any advice would be great, as I keep seeing mixed answers on other parts of the internet. Budget is between 5k & 10K.

I’d try my best to find another Kluger, mate.

If you must go MDX, try to find one with low mileage.

All the best!

Can’t you find another Highlander? If not, get the Honda MDX, the ride is sportier but it is a good car.

The klugers are good cars, though the acura mdx's have a way sportier ride

She who must be obeyed has yet to make a decision, though the budget is showing the Kluger as being out of the price range. The MDX is currently the front runner, followed by cx-9 & Kia grand carnival tied for 2nd. She needs to start test driving but we don't have a car to go to dealers / sellers with . . .

Well another Highlander would be best if possible. Don't even look at a Kia. Honda and Mazda are good choices. I would choose the Mazda between those 2 as they are more enjoyable to drive.

If you have 1 to 3 kids, a toyota camry or the equivalent is all you need,  anything more is a want. if you have 4 kids, you might be able to get away with putting 1 of them in the front and putting the other 3 in the back. I  don't know what the law in australia is on that.

If you can NOT put the kid in front, AND you have more than 3 kids, I'd get another highlander, or the cx9, ONLY if you can not find a minivan. Vans have lower center of gravity and have stow and go seats. Get a toyota sienna if you can find one there. The honda and the chrysler vans have horrible transmissions.
