Recently, I have been having an issue with the acceleration power in my 2015 Chevrolet Camaro 1LT V6. If I was at a stop sign or stop light, the rpms would drop so low that I thought it was going to stall and if I went to accelerate to get onto a highway, it would chug. I would let off the gas and then press the gas again, and it would be fine.
I was looking on my scan tool and it's showing that my Long Term Fuel Trim was at somewhere between -12 and -35 percent. The Short Term Fuel Trim was somewhere between -3.3 and 1.7 percent. These are in both banks.
I thought maybe there was an issue with an air leak, and since I installed a cold air intake when I bought the car in March 2020, I thought that may be the issue. I reinstalled the stock intake, but the fuel trims didn't change and the loss of power has remained the same.
I cleaned he throttle body and did a hard reset on the computers and other electronics, nothing has helped.
What could my issue be? I was thinking maybe the O2 sensors are bad, but my scan tool says they are operating as intended.
I also wanted to add that I was getting pending codes for the engine running too rich in both banks (P0172 and P0175) and had an error code of P015B, but haven't had it more than once.
Turned out that the oxygen sensor and maf sensor were bad. I replaced both and the car runs great now.
Great! Thank you for keeping us posted.
Have you checked your spark plugs? A bad one could definitely cause power loss.
@mod_man
I have not. I will have to check that tomorrow.
Also, not sure if this helps, but I had recorded a video of what my scan tool was doing.
I went to my local dealership and had them diagnose the issue and was told it was the battery because it was giving the computer low voltage. I replaced the battery, but the issue has not gone away.
