Hey Scotty should I get my coolant flush I got a 2007 nissan maxima 148k I bought the car at 125k and  I don’t see any CARFAX history of radiator or coolant flush on it previous history, no leaks and my temperature guage always stay in the middle solid. I’m just scared if I change it could it cause problems to the water pump?

Flushing and changing the coolant should benefit the water pump. If the coolant becomes acidic it can eat the water pump impeller, eat up the heater core and head gaskets. Make sure you use the proper coolant for your vehicle type.

Well it's a 2007, and you say there is no service record for a coolant flush...so because of this I would do a coolant flush. Coolant flushes are typically done every 5 years; not so much on a mileage basis.

why would it damage the water pump?

some mechanic told me if i change the coolant it would start leaking and could damage the water pump when i tried changing it for my 05 malibu so i just was trying to avoid any risk..... but i changed the coolant on my maxima already.

you'll see it's not true
