Hey Scotty, I’ve been looking at a new car to get. One thing that has my attention is the Mazda RX8, but I’m hesitant. Personally I think they’re great looking cars, they’re different from everything else. But there’s one big con. It’s rotary. Pros - rotary. Cons - rotary. I was thinking like 60,000 miles or less, anything I should be aware of if I buy one?
Lots of mechanics won't work on rotaries - find one and check them out first before buying one.
You can buy an RX8 for a lot less money than a comparable piston-engine car, like say a Nissan Z. There's a good reason for that, just like there's a good reason that they stopped making them. Guess what that reason is.
Don't buy one, they are repair nightmares. I would stick to a Nissan Z, Honda S2000, or a Mazda Miata.
