I have a Toyota Camry 2009 XLE, 4 cylinders. It drives very well, no light comes on, or having any issues overall. However, the only problem that I have is when I do a hard turn (or turn my steering wheel all the way to one side) or brake a little bit harder than I usually do, this will trigger a red "low oil pressure light" to come on. I have spent $1,200 at the dealership for a quote of "power stirring hose replacement". This seems to fix the issues for 4 months before it was an issue again. If anyone would has a solution or recommendations, I would love to hear it because I don't want to spend any more money than necessary.
Well I don't understand what low oil pressure has to do with the power steering. If you say you stop or turn hard that would/the oil back and forth in the bottom of the oil pan and if you had a problem with the oil pickup, it wouldn't have enough oil to suck to the engine and have low oil pressure.
If there's a problem with the power steering pressure switch or a problem in its wiring/wiring connector the engine rpms could drop enough under the load of the power steering pump to cause the oil light to come on

Does this happen when you are in park too? Like turn the wheel all the way to a side while the car isnt moving
Sir, I know I'm knew to this site and I don't know if this will help. Years ago I had a Pontiac Catalina Station Wagon, It was from the late 70's or early 80's not really sure because of how bad my memory is. A REALLY BIG BOAT! It had a big V8, a 455-CI engine. Lots of power. That I'm sure of. Well every time I would make a left had turn, and the car would lean to the right and it would blow out "BLUE SMOKE" and my oil pressure would go low and the light would come on in the gauge. It got so bad the guys at work would say here comes the crop duster getting rid of the Mosquitoes. I don't know if it helps but, I have been there. Good luck and be safe!
