I've been getting a low oil pressure light as the warning in the little info screen. It happens while on idle sometimes not all the times. Checked oil level its good. What could it be.03 Lincoln aviator 185450 MI

i recently had the same issue on my 8th honda civic, and i had just let a mechanic change both oils 100 miles ago. so i decided i will change engine oil and transmission fluid to the EXACT quantity, i even changed my inlet filter wich was clogged. i also removed oil sensor and i cleaned it, the pins still look in good condition (no oil leak on my pins). car no longer has oil pressure issue when idling or reverse. ( i even replaced my spark plugs as a bonus) Now if you get oil pressure by accelerating alot then you might want to check for codes or simply check your oxygen sensors. what has worked for me is cleaning every sensor and plugs using electric spray cleaner(any brand is ok)
As a word of caution, people are saying that shell gasoline is making their cars run like crap so keep yourself upated
almost forgot. i highly reccomend whenever you change your engine oil and transmission fluid please let them drain overnight
i noticed some kind of brown milky oil came out at the very last hours. you want to make sure you get all that trash oil from your engine because you dont want your new fluid/oil to be contaminated. i also used a tire air pump to get the remaining transmission fluid from my radiatior 🙂 it was a little bit but hey atleast your new oil is good
I just had the same thing happen to my 2013 Ford F-150, I read up on the forums and decided to replace the oil pressure switch (sender unit). Took about an hour and a little cussing especially after I put everything back together and it happened again.
Frustrated with the situation, I let the engine run for 15 mins so it can re-learn the idle and went inside for supper. Decided to try it again after a couple hours and lo and behold, not only does it idle smoother but it hasn't given me the low oil pressure warning anymore.
I can send a video of the warning on my dash if you like. Please note that my problem only happened while in gear and stopped at a light or something, as soon as I rev it up, the problem would go away. I also used the OE Motorcraft brand, no Duralast or Bosch or whatever other brand they wanna sell you. OE Part cost me about $7.
Don't forget to check your dipstick and make sure there really is oil in there before anything else.
I agree that the oil pressure sensing unit is probably starting to fail.
Lincolns often times use Ford parts so you might find a cheap replacement anywhere in the US.
Sometimes it is simply that the engine idle speed is too low. I have had that happen in the past on an old Dodge.
Someone else can better answer the many other possibilities: engine wear, oil pump, sensor failing ....
Probably the oil pressure sending unit (it only operates the light or gauge). Over time, the brass corrodes and the resistance goes up sending a false signal to the light/gauge. Sometimes, they can be cleaned with a wire wheel but because they are relatively inexpensive, I just replace them. By the way, this is not the oil pressure sensor, it's the oil pressure sender.
