Low transmission fluid

Hello again. Back with the transmission again. This time is something that doesn't appear to be in the FAQ. Our 2007 Honda Accord, the other car with have, seen to have low transmission fluid. The car have 223,558 miles. Not sure it could be that since the car is cool, it's appear low. Can I add new fluid to the old fluid it have? Talking about the old fluid, it appears that it is like a clear brown, not black burn, no particles in it. What should I do? ( Don't know any specialist hire that can help me and the one I do the most live like 2 hours away from me)

Make sure you are checking fluid level according to the manufacturer's instructions. Usually that means on level ground with the engine and trans at operating temperature, engine idling, transmission in Park or Neutral. If the fluid is actually low you obviously have a leak, which would not be surprising on an 18-year-old high-mileage vehicle. You can top it up with the OEM Honda fluid.

As far as what to do about your apparently dirty transmission fluid that is covered in the FAQ.
