Hello Scotty!
I'd like to know if you can show me (or if even it's important) to do the lubrications on a car. The Honda service manual says these are the points that needs to be lubricated but it is not very clear as to where exactly. Example: here's the diagram they have for the lubrication points. https://www.civicx.com/forum/attachments/1611286525860-png.271405/
But how do I know what they mean by lubricating the fuel fill door? The opening? The hinges? The entire door? I hope you can enlighten me, thank you!
The purpose of grease is to make things easier to move, reduce wear etc. It is applied wherever things rub on each other.
If you watch Scotty's videos about changing brake calipers, it should show you where to lubricate the slide pins etc.
The boots and seals keep the lubrication where it needs to be. The silicone grease keeps them from drying out.
In the case of the battery terminals, it keeps moisture and contamination away so the terminals don't corrode and degrade the electrical connection.
I think slave cylinder is only for manual transmissions.
Thank you! Do I put silicone grease on the fuel door hinges and the cap itself? it's the no cap kind for my car, thank you!
uhh nope. Not the capless cap.
only multipurpose grease on the door hinge, just like the manual says
Oh the manual says fuel fill door, doesn't specify which part, so just the hinge?
are there other parts of your fuel fill door which are experiencing friction?
only when I insert the gas nozzle lol
