I have infiniti q50 2018 3.0T, My trim is the full option with adaptive cruise control, after changing the ecm and reprogramming the keys the car started but an malfunction code on the dashboard appearing that the front radar is not working. So the whole cruise control system stopped working because it does not work without the adaptive cruise control. I asked a lot of electricians they said that the second hand ecm may not have the radar feature or the adaptive cruise control feature. So do i have to buy another ecm that matches my trim perfectly or can i just reprogram it somehow. Or what can i do exactly. There is some electrician who bought a ticket online and tried reprogramming but to be honest i dont know if he did the right reprogramming, And after finishing the problem persisted. My old ecm had issues with misfiring the cylinders but when i connect it the error on the dashboard goes away and the adaptive cruise control works. As soon as i connect the second hand ecm, the dashboard lights that there is malfunction in the radar.

You changed the ecm for a misfire? While it can be the problem, however; there is a long list of other things that can cause misfires. I'd put the old one back and find the cause of the misfire and fix that. Replacing an ecm (getting the right one) and programming it correctly is a very complicated process to get it work right.

After replacing the ecm the cylinders stopped misfiring, the only problem that persisted is the radar malfunction. Other than that the car now is working perfectly.

Now you know why I tell people not to buy infinities as they get older they become nightmare repair jobs. You can't fix any of those systems yourself you would need a Nissan dealer level computer to reset all those systems then they have to be adapted to the vehicle using test signs and a drive cycle and a fancy computer it's not something you can do yourself
