Hi Scotty,

Hope you are well.

I brought my mazda into the dealership to have an inspection done.

Car drives okay right now. Decreased acceleration but not too much. Significant smoke coming out of exhaust while idle mainly when in stop and go city traffic. Engine light on and off during the Ohio winter; not on in summer. Engine Codes: P2006 and P2187.

Dealership said I should have the following replaced: turbo charger (due to "turbo leak"), inlet manifold with swirl valves, timing chain ("loose") and tensinor.

Would you agree to have these parts replaced? Or should I try some fluids, etc? Or anything else?

Thank you very much,

Mark

The dealer is about the last place you should go for anything but new car warranty work.

Have your Mazda checked by a good independent mechanic. (Also stay away from chains like Pep Boys, Midas, Firestone, etc.)
