could a 2010-2011 mercury grand marquis with around 50-70k miles be a decent daily driver reliability wise or is it too old.

Absolutely they can be, those things are tanks on the road. The 4.6 V8 is what I consider to be one of the best motors Ford ever produced. If the car checks out I wouldn’t hesitate, I saw one recently had 300k mi owner said no issues at all and loves the car.
