Hi Scotty, I'm having trouble establishing what the issue is with my polo. From the remote it locks and unlocks perfectly fine as well as from the key. One day, the interior central locking button stopped working for a while and worked intermittently after but has stopped for good, and no longer locks or unlocks the car. I was thinking I may need a new switch, or could it be the central locking system entirely?
Perhaps the battery in the fob needs to be changed.
The key fob is absolutely fine. I just can't lock or unlock the car using the in car central locking. 🤷🏾♂️
Do you mean door button inside driver's door that locks all doors so no one can open them from outside?

Perhaps the switch is problematic. Messing with whole system does not make sense because the car is 18 years old.
