Moped engine seized

I was given a 2018 Ice Bear Scooter with a 50cc, 139QMB, YinXiang Engine.

It has like less than 2k miles on it. My friend drove it around for a while, and then the engine eventually seized after a few months. How could it seize with such low miles?

Is it fairly easy to rebuild motors on mopeds? Whats the chance I could un seize it and get it back to running fine again.

Cheaply-made Chinese engines are not known for long-term durability.

It could also have been abused, for example the owner's manual online states:

"NOTES:
Do not race your engine when you are not
riding. A long time race will make your engine
too hot and destroy the interior parts."

It should not be too difficult to overhaul a one-cylinder small engine but you'd still want a tech manual for guidance. If the piston is stuck in the bore, putting a little Marvel Mystery Oil into the spark plug hole and letting it soak overnight might help. Chances are though the thing is just plain worn out or damaged by abuse.

2018 Ice Bear Rocket, 3000 miles, gy6, 139qmb

I made some not best decisions. And no longer have my car.

Sooo

Was given a broken down moped.

He said drove fine, but then after a hour it would overheat, and smoke. And eventually seized, then he un seized it. Then it seized again. And hasn't touched it since.

Can I just rebuild the motor, these seem easy to do.

If it overheated terribly. Could it have damaged it to the point that rebuilding it is pointless?

And what exactly do I need to rebuild it? A big bore kit?

Due to similarities in screen names, vehicle, situation, and question it appears that you have created a second account and asked about the same problem that you did a couple of days ago. This is a clear violation of forum rules. Administrator @imperator should take a closer look and make a determination. For now the topics have been merged and will be marked "Private" (not seen by general members).
