Dear Scotty,
Love your videos. I noticed that you own a couple of motorcycles so I thought that you may be able to answer a couple of bike related questions. I own a 2002 Yamaha FJR1300 with 126,000 km on it and when I start it up when its cold it doesn't smoke; however, after 30 secs or so it starts producing white smoke until I ride for a few minutes which seems counter to what I thought would normally happen as an engine warms up; the clearances should tighten up and there should be less leakage/smoke. Is this indicative of an engine problem? Also, the transmission sometimes makes clunking noises when I shift gears. I bought the bike from the original owner about 3,000 km ago and he didn't recall ever having replaced the clutch plates; I don't notice any clutch slippage but would the noises from the transmission indicate that the clutch needs to be replaced or should I switch the engine/transmission oil or add an additive to the engine oil to make the transmission shift smoother?
Regards,
Ralph
that smoking is a sign of Worn valve seals.you could try new oil on a transmission but with the miles it has on outside the transmission is just worn if it doesn't slip the clutch is still working you might kind of live with that with that kind of mileage on it motorcycle
