Hey Scotty,

I have a 2009 Honda Accord coupe lx-s automatic transmission with 137,000 miles. There is no engine code or stored code. The whole car tends to vibrate, it only vibrates when I’m setting at a red light while it’s on drive. Once I let go off the brake pedal it’s stop to vibrate and drives prefect. This just stared . I changed my spark plugs and my ignition coils. Still vibrates. While I wait for the red light. NEED HELP

Sounds like motor mounts are going out. Get a tech to check it out for you if you cannot yourself.

I had a Camaro that always broke the Motor mounts; even though the Motor had never been removed. [Except lifted to replace the Motor mounts.]

It it be better to change all the motor mounts or just one ?

Typically one going out means the rest will soon. It's recommend to replace all but if you are strapped for cash you could just do the one. Just keep in mind that's an extra labor cost later on though. Go ahead and get it double checked though as we here can't physically see the car.

What good engine mounts would be good for my vehicle? Or would it be better OEM

Have someone you know start the car, in park, and hold the brake pedal while you stand next to the open hood, as it starts up. Once you know where the mounts are (and there are usually four), you'll be able to first hear, and then see, where the clunk is coming from.

Anything OEM or OEM plus is recommended. Don't go off and try to buy your own unless you are confident enough to DIY it. If the shop pays, you'll get marked up but at least then you have warranty on the repair

When I’m waiting for a red light and the car vibrates I hear a rattle coming from the driver side it’s seem like coming from outside or the dashboard ...
But the whole car vibrates

Did it do it before you changed the spark plugs & coils?

Did you use OEM plugs & coils?

If it isn’t the engine/tranny mounts, look for vacuum leaks.

Yes, that’s the reason why I changed my ignition coils and my spark plugs. And it still doing it ?
Yes I used the original ignition coils.

Fingers crossed it’s an easy fix for you! Check all the mounts & vacuum lines. Does it do it when you’re in P/N or D, when stopped at the light?

It only does it when I’m on D and waiting for a red light
P/N nothing. no vibration

Oh no, that’s a classic sign of your torque converter showing signs of wear. If all your engine & transmission mounts are good, I’d just live with it and shift to P/N while you’re stopped. Who knows, the transmission may still last for years, that way.

So don’t change my engine mounts ?

When I turn on the car in the morning . And started and press on the brakes while on drive the motor motors vibrates ? Mean anything

Oh, check all your engine & transmission mounts first. Maybe it’s just that. But, if they’re still in good condition, odds are it’s your torque converter. You’ll need to diagnose it correctly.

But it doesn’t vibrate when you’re idling in P/N right?

When it’s in park it idles like a dream and everything and when it’s on neutral it’s quite as well and in park too .

The only vibration that the car has is when I’m waiting on a red light it’s vibrates and then I let go off the brake pedal and doesn’t vibrate anymore.
On park no vibration
On reverse no vibration either as well in neutral no vibration

Also the engine vibrates and I think it’s coming from that.

Check your engine & transmission mounts first & take it from there.

Does the engine stall or feel like it's going to stall?

Thanks y’all it was my motors mounts

Thanks for keeping us posted!
