Thinking of buying a
-$5,500 black Lexus ES330 4x2wheel drive clean title
-128K miles
-vin:jthba30g355077300
Dealer starting price was $5,580 then $5,500. (pictures lie btw)
CONS
-I checked the car out and found minor to moderate scratches and dents.
-right passenger rear view mirror moves left and right but not up and down
-The part in the CV axel before going into the transmission is rusted but I couldn't tell because car was a bit low to the ground.
-There is some sort of oil leak coming from the engine but its not severe, it hard to describe because it looks like when someone is adding oil and accidently spill some. There is oil leak all over the cover underneath the car and a little bit outside the engine. (might be the head gasket?)
PROS
-OBD tester is not tripping any codes, guy looks like he does his best to take care of his cars, sort of.
-Car accelerated and shifted good both from Drive to Reverse
-no sounds when turning the wheel on either direction
-Suspension felt great
-When hard breaking the abs activates
-Underneath the car is some minor rust, as to be expected here in Minnesota, but rust is rust.
The price I negotiated was, 3,500 but he wouldn't accept lower than 4,800. Do you think I should buy the car at that price and status of the vehicle?
I appreciate your time and consideration
Thank,
Evelynn Veleni

It's gone.
I think it's still there. Unfortunately links to Amazon and Facebook get broken by the forum software. Added manual link.
Thanks @mountainmanjoe. I can see it now. I would make sure it has a clean title AND definitely make sure the name on the title matches the person selling it to you. It already has that FaceBook "posting this for my Dad/brother/cousin" shady vibe in the ad.
Before buying it get it checked by reliable mechanic you trust or independent mechanic. I know its a lexus and price reasonable but before buying go on test drive especially on highway see how well it performs get it inspected by mechanic and also look up car history how well he took care of the car . Trust me I had bad experience used car from private dealer almost lost $7000
I would have a mechanic check it before putting down any money. Also, you can use the cosmetic issues to lower the price more especially for luxury cars like this.
