Hey Scotty, Just purchased a 2019 Mazda6 with 10k miles on it for $26k. Do you think these vehicles are built to last? is there anything I should take care of specifically?
Which trim and engine?
It can last a long time if you take care of it. Do regular maintenance and change the ATF every 60k miles. If I'm not mistaken, the AT is made by AISIN, which is a good one.
See below: also, if you have the 2.5L NA engine (came in the Sport and Touring trim) that will have cylinder deactivation - they started putting that technology in staring with 2018 model year (so I would have bought a 2017 model year if it were me). Anyhow, cylinder deactivation can potentially wear out and damage the engine over time; disabling it mitigates (but doesn’t 100% eliminate) that.

Otherwise, stay on top of the engine and transmission fluid change intervals. Especially if your engine has cylinder deactivation, clean engine oil is a must: I would change the oil every 5,000 miles.
