New car maintenance

I have a 2019 Honda CRV AWD 1.5L CVT automatic with 11,000 miles. I bought it new and am changing oil every 5000 miles and not following the car maintenance minder. I would like to prevent the transmission and rear differential from premature failure so at what mileage do you recommend changing first transmission and differential fluids and at what mileage thereafter.

Thanks.

The maintenance minder will show a 6 code (A6 or B6) for the rear differential fluid.

The average is 15,000 miles for the first differential change. And 30,000+ miles thereafter.

Our HRV triggered the differential code at 13,100 miles.  But we only drive stop-n-go city.

For the CVT, the code is 3 (A3 or B3), and from what I've read that code shows up 45-60,000 miles.

Honda only gives a recommendation to change CVT fluid at 30,000 miles for extreme conditions, like driving in mountains.

So, I would guess that 30-40k changes for both would be more than ample, if not overkill.

But watch for the codes anyways.  It will give you a good idea what the computer thinks of your type of driving.

Does your owner’s manual offer any guidance on the change interval?

Hondas have the maintenance minder system which tells you, nothing said in the manuals, and OP said they are disregarding it (sometimes its absurd, I've seen 90k mile oil change intervals on the internet for an Odyssey).

I would recommend changing the transmission fluid every 30-50k miles. Check out the guide on should I change my automatic transmission fluid? in the FAQ as well. Do a drain+fill NOT a flush.

Also watch out for oil dilution, no more than 4-5k mile oil change intervals are recommended.
