New Sienna Delivery Checklist.

Soon I’ll purchase a brand new Toyota Sienna. When I take delivery at the dealership is there a checklist of things that you would suggest that I look at before signing the final paperwork and paying? Many thanks.

First inspect the car before taking delivery or going into the finance office. Check to make sure there was no damage to the car during transportation and if they've tried to fix it enough to just sell you the car. I always open the hood and check the engine too.

In the finance office read in detail every single piece of paper you are signing because with these crooks you just don't know what they might try to slip in there. If everything looks okay/what you agreed on then go ahead and sign and pay.

yeah maybe even take the papers home to examine carefully before even signing.

It's a good idea but in this market and given it being a Sienna the dealership can easily sell it to someone else while OP is reading the papers at home.

then you deserve whatever comes as a result of signing. I think they can wait one day.

One can read stuff while at the finance office and get things done there right away but given OP's question I'm assuming they're a first time buyer so I don't expect them to be that good at it. This car market is just so so different and the new Sienna has a very long wait already and if this person leaves they have someone else in line to buy it right away. It's not a great situation but it's unfortunately how it is these days.

Basic stuff.

open all the doors, sunroofs etc.

colors match, panels are straight, Weather stripping is straight ...

Make sure AC is cold. Lights work. floor mats are all there

Look underneath for obvious stuff.

Look at your paperwork that lists all the options & features and make sure they're all present and working.

Never underestimate the tenacity of a car dealer to try to rip you off.
