Hi Scotty,
After owning a 2007 Corolla manual for about 5 years and having a good experience with it I decided to buy a new car, a 2021 Corolla SE sedan with a manual 6 speed. I want to hold on to this car for as long as possible and was wondering what kind of maintenance schedule I should maintain for all fluids etc.
I just went to the dealer for the six month checkup and putting on snow tires and they told me I can wait to change the oil, I had 6500 km on it, that sounded right. I thought it was ok since it has synthetic oil, what do you think?
Hoping for a response, thanks
Change oil and filter at 5000 mile intervals for longest engine life.
that's 8,000 km. And at least every year.
Those alien distances are pretty much meaningless to me, they don't make any sense. Good point though that it should be done at least once a year even if you don't drive that much.
A kilometer is the distance you can walk in about 12 mins, Chuck.
or, driving at city speed limits, 1.2 minutes by car.
Just over 9 football fields.
1 mile = ~ 1.6 kilometres
There are two kinds of countries in this world, those that have been to the moon and those that use the metric system!
@doc Russia?
I know, I know. But this was funny twenty years ago.
how many furlongs is that? My car only gets 3 barleycorns to the drachm
About 20 Fathoms.
Follow the maintenance schedule in the manual, or better.
The manual probably suggests 10,000 mile oil change intervals. Most folks here will recommend 5,000 intervals.
And the manual probably goes up to 120,000 miles.
