Hi scotty I bought brand new 2021 silverado 1500 somone told me I should change the oil at 1000-1500 miles cause engine needs to break in is that true I don't wanna waste my money doing it to early but I don't wanna blow the engine up either

Forget that claptrap. Breaking in periods were for cars and trucks back in the day. Modern vehicles have nearly no break in.
Change it out at 5k miles unless you feel like giving the dealer some extra money.
