Hey Scott I bought a 2021 Jetta base model for 18.5k. I drive on Uber. I could not find a good used car or trust that I would get a good car. I have 50k miles warrenty and 200k engine and transmission warrenty. Did I make a good call? When should I sell it.
Sorry anyone can answer thought I was asking Scott but looks like it's a forum for everyone
Did you want a reply ‘specifically’ from Scotty?
Sorry, but no you didn't.
Sell it before the warranty expires.
VW quality isn't very good these days. But you have it, and you have a good warranty, so I say just enjoy it until you start having more issues than you feel it is worth. 🙂
See below on Scotty’s review of the newer Jetta: Time will tell, but I would not have gotten the Jetta especially since it looks like you will put lots of mileage on it. I worry too about the fancy electronics beyond the 50,000 miles warranty period; you will be on the hook for those repairs. Also, regarding powertrain warranty now you will essentially have to be diligent on maintenance (a good thing) and make sure you perform all the services VW recommends, or they can potentially deny a claim in the future, and you will need everything documented so they can’t weasel their way out of a warranty claim, which would mean getting it serviced by VW. Yeah, you got a long powertrain warranty, but now you are “indebted” to the dealer so they can document in their system and not deny a future claim; I prefer taking to my own independent mechanics or doing some of the work myself.

Used all day as long as you do your due diligence during the purchase process. That said, you’ve already bought, so make the best of it til the warranty runs out and keep on top of your maintenance as already mentioned.
Sorry, this post was originally titled differently, so my response no longer seems applicable.
No, those are actually pretty bad cars. Unfortunately you already bought it so you are stuck with it. If you try to sell it you will loose your shirt.
Volkswagen are poorly made especially the new one. Sell it before the warranty expires because as soon as u reach 100000miles it is gonna start having problems especially with the transmission and electronics.
Just to fix smaller parts can cost you a fortune so yeah and since you drive uber I say get camry or accord and even if you get used ones they can last u for long time
And as for now if you have no option left and your stuck with the car Baby it and pray
