Hey Scotty, so I got a Nissan Altima 2012 3.5SR fully loaded in like 2017 with 45k miles, it's been almost 5 years now and I put on about 84k miles. It has that good ol Jatco CVT transmission and that's what worries me. I've had no issues with the CVT, but random things are starting to wear down. I've had to get the wheel bearing replaced and my rotors and caliper are starting to go. I was debating if I just get rid of it or if I should just pay for the repairs and transmission fluid change. The issue is used cars are so expensive right now, but the amount of stories of the Nissan CVT is starting to weigh on me. Anyways if anyone has any input it would be appreciated thank you.

Yes I would sell that car before anything else breaks on that car.

If it’s not giving you cvt related issues it seems with what problems you do have your worried about regular maintenance you’d have with any manufacturer I’d say just fix the car it sounds like it’s treated you pretty well thus far… and on the other side the 3.5 versions of those years with the cvt had far fewer concerns than the 2.5 counterpart.  If you want honest non biased advice about your Nissan don’t ask for it here

Yea, I had no major problems transmission doesn't slip or anything feels strong. I have also seen the 3.5SR does have fewer issues than the 2.5 ones, you do have a good point about bias. I think I'll hold on to it until it dies.
