They do belive they have one in stock.
Calling up their HQ and file a complaint could help.
Small claims court?
Bring external actors to bear. Lodge a complaint with NHTSA (the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration). Call your local media "consumer advocates."
What have I've read, here , Nissan settled Altima claims (2013-2016) in 2020, extending the warranty to 84 months or 84K miles. You may be out of the mileage range, if this is the valid legal holding.
The other class action CVT lawsuit that I found was more recent, and covers various Rogues, Pathfinders and Infinitis. See here.
So it may be that you're out of the zone for reimbursement. But raise a fuss, and perhaps the bad publicity will compel Nissan to make an accommodation.
And, of course, stay away from Nissan (and Hyundai and Kia, as well) in future. They all have a history of products with severe problems.
Ok I just did that for NHTSA.
Thanks for the report. Good to know Nissan doesn't expect more than 84k out of their vehicles.
I'd get a used trans or a new one, plug it in, and sell the car. It's going to be a headache at high mileage, as you can see.
Many years ago in Chicago, a friend bought a Plymouth Duster that blew the head gasket on the 2nd day he owned it. The dealer refused to fix it free so he parked it across the street with a big sign on it saying what a ripoff the dealer was. Parked it on Monday. by Wednesday they gave him a new car.
Ok I think this is what where are going to do is put a transmission in the car or sell it the way it is right now or sell it with new trans because Nissan corp wont pay. We found a new trans for $2,644
and still, people buy cars from those yellow swine, go figure
If Scotty sees this one, his mere mentioning of the case in his videos might end up breaking someone's bluff at that dealership. It worked for the lady a year and a half ago who overpaid $10k for the Tacoma and they didn't refund it until he made an episode about it. The car makers, and especially the dealers, don't usually like bad publicity. Nobody's going to buy cars from a place that doesn't stand behind their product or work.
