Hi Scott, i have couple of questions about my Nissan Sentra. nobody has the solution for it. includes the dealer. first question is every winter Electronic throttle body control fails, and second one is very strange i discovered recently is overheating, i replaced all possible parts cause overheating like thermostat, radiator & fan motor etc... Also professional check on oil/coolant levels and any cracks.. all seems fine. but still i'm facing a slight overheat problem only if i drive in cities or in slow moving traffics. temperature becomes normal if i start to drive my car continuously for 2 minutes, later i discovered by pressing the break pedal deeply keeps my car temperature level normal in the traffic or keep the gear level in 'P' position. i took it to many professionals and replaced the break lever etc... nothing fixes my problem. can you suggest me a solution?
To me, the issues are electronic based.
So far, what did you do for the electronic throttle issue? About the temperature reading, have you changed the temperature sending unit?
Thank you for your quick reply & support. every time i replace the expensive electronic throttle body together with Accelerator pedal. few months back i replaced thermostat. did'nt replace any temperature sending unit
Do you use OEM parts for the electronic parts? Get some sort of warranty on those.
yes i replace only with OEM parts, and normally comes with 1 year warranty, in my case if electronic throttle body fails in less than a year then simply the part seller cleans carbon deposit and reset the code but before the second time fail i am already out of warranty, so i do myself manual cleaning of carbon deposit once or twice and forced to replace it because of frequent cleaning required especially in winter. i replaced the set of electronic throttle body & accelerator pedal twice since i bought brand new car on July 2016. i clear/reset engine check light by using bluetooth OBD connected through mobile application
If it's overheating when you're not moving, then the cooling fans aren't doing their job.
What trouble codes are you getting and current mileage please
