Scotty I purchased a 2018 Nissan Murano before I started watching you regularly. It currently has almost 75k miles on it. What are your thoughts about it’s Xtronic CVT transmission? What should I do to help it last. We have had it drained and filled.
Jatco CVTs are weak, Xtronic is just another name they use.
What should I do to help it last.
Change your transmission fluid every 20,000-30,000 miles.
ALSO, you should avoid causing internal slippage (when the engine is revving wheels are spinning at a different ratio to the one that's set by the gearbox) by driving moderately (avoiding quick starts from standstill, rocking back and forth, or having your wheels spin without the car going) and avoiding any off-road situations.
Exactly what Dan said above if you want to make it last. But if you would prefer something more reliable in the long term I just did a quick search and this car is being sold anywhere from $25k to $30k (for your mileage range and year) on places like Carmax, Carvana, etc. so if you can sell it to one of these places for around $25k you can use the money to buy a new Rav4. Used car prices are high now so you can get very good money for it.
