I have an 04 Camry LE with JUST over 81k miles with automatic transmission. Lately I’ve been been noticing that after starting it I get a thing of white/smoke coming out from the tailpipe but even with this I’ve noticed that the car has also been cutting off due to low idle! As in registering as if I didn’t even start the car. Lol sometimes I’ll restart and it’s idling fine again and other times it’s a repeat the restart. I don’t know if both are a 2for1 problem or whatever but I also don’t have a clue on what to do. All my friends who sadly live too far say it might be this or that. One of which problems being the catalytic converter. But again I’m not car smart. Haha I even made videos to send in hopes for better help but 🤷♂️🤷♂️
The 2002-2005 Camrys were famous for stripped head bolts and consequently, blown head gaskets. Sorry. The correct repair is to send the head to a machine shop for a rebuild and install threaded inserts into the block and use ARP head studs.
