I found an OBD reader on Temu that I’m considering buying for my Audi A4. Can you tell me if it’s safe to use or if I should avoid it?

No way I'd plug any $3 dongle up to my OBD2 port, especially one from a website known for selling sketchy products.

dodgy chinese product from dodgy chinese website... what could go wrong?

I actually bought one of these a long time ago, and it's everything you would expect ... dodgy. Avoid it.

Even if it worked as advertised... it's incredibly basic, and not user friendly to get working.

I highly recommend you save up a little more for something more polished like a Bluedriver (~$100). It will save you hours of frustration and will be 100x more useful.

See our FAQ for an in depth article on diagnostic tool reviews.

I never heard of them but the quality is certainly suspect at those kind of prices (under $20). I wouldn't risk it.

Everyone I know who has bought from Temu has had their credit card hacked.
I’d Stick with Scotty’s recommendations in  the links.
