Being OBDI, it is extremely difficult to find a scanner for those vehicles;  however, one good one is the Actron CP9690.  This one does both OBDI and II;  it is pricey, but there isn’t much available.  Which vehicle are you interested in scanning?  If you are interested in this tool I would contact Actron and see if your vehicle is supported.

A cheaper option is the Actron CP9145, but it is not available through Actron anymore.  You may look online for it to see if someone is selling it.  Some of our members have that scan tool for OBDI and it worked fine for them.  But again, I would double check with Actron to see if this tool also covers the vehicle you are interested in.

With OBDI scanners you won’t get the same wealth of information about the vehicle’s engine and other modules that you would with OBDII scanner. Let us know which vehicle you have and what you are trying to do.

OBD1 scanners often work for only one specific make of car.

Unlike the OBD2 scanners, OBD1 scanners are not standardized across different manufacturers.

For instance, an OBD1 scanner that can diagnose a Toyota make will not diagnose a make from Ford.

According to Scotty OBD1 scanners don't work. However, unlike OBD2, with OBD1 you don't need a scanner to pull the codes. Every manufacturer has a different process for pulling the codes.

if your car is old enough(before 1996) , it should work ok.
