Hey Scotty, I got a 2003 Pontiac Sunfire and I noticed that when I turn the heater on, the engine temp goes down but when I shut off the heat, the temp gauge goes back up to operating temp. I’ve replaced the thermostat and it’s still doing the same thing. Any reason why it could be doing this?

when you turn on the heat, you are drawing heat from the engine, so you're cooling it down.
