What is with rock auto, never answer the phone, or call back, trying to get my order straight and the web sight is perplexing

@billieB You don't have to buy from rockauto, pick it up locally.

4666139AA is the Mopar dipstick's part number. Use that number to buy it, or its equivalent, wherever you'd like. (I'd go for the cheapest) The objective is to get the correct dipstick for the least amount of money.

Probably email is the best way to contact them. I'm sure one of the ways they keep costs down is by having minimal staff. I've ordered a ton of parts over the years from rockauto.com and not had any problems.

I don't know what's perplexing about the site. You look up the manufacturer, year, model, and engine, and for this just search for "dipstick" - several come right up, including one for just a little over $6.

(Both the 3.3 and 3.8 engines list the same dipstick.)

The main issue with rockauto.com is arranging your order for minimum shipping cost, order as much from the same warehouse as possible. Of course if ordering just one item that doesn't apply, in this case shipping probably costs more than the part. (Of course you can note the part numbers and search for them elsewhere.)

The other thing you can do is change the oil and filter, put in the correct amount of oil, run the engine so the filter fills, stop it and let the oil drain down, then see where that winds up on your dipstick. If it's wrong mark the dipstick at the correct level.

According to page 444 of the owners manual it holds 5 Qts with filter. https://ownersman.com/manuals/2006-Chrysler-Town-And-Country-owners-manual

Has the dipstick been changed? If you're not the original owner, source another one and try it.

@hixster Let me review, 2006 town/country 181k miles that the book says 5qt reg oil, last fall the handle broke off the dip stick got a oem stick from the parts store same length and it show oil level way above safe, had oil change after service of a double gasket mistake and oil system fail, garage put 3 qt sys oil in and it show in the safe zone should I just put 5qt in book says not to over fill due to possible damage.

Something's not right. you'd have to drain all the oil, change the filter and add back 5 quarts to know the oil level/volume? Regardless of how you got to this point, you need to get the right dipstick. I suggest you go to a salvage yard and grab a dipstick from that specific engine. (You didn't include this info)

I would add 2 quarts (for a total of 5 quarts) if the filter was changed. If the filter was not changed, I would only add 1 quart.

@hixster Thanks, it is 3.8l V6 when to 3 parts store and the answers range from dud? to go to dealer for dip stick, before I go to dealer, just how to read dip, I always pull it out wipe it off and dip it for reading, what is the bend in the dio stick for anyway.

@billieb The bend doesn't affect the reading (it's only there as an orientation aid) The 3.3 and the 3.8 each hold 5 quarts of oil when changing the filter, but the dipsticks for them might be different. You want to ensure you get the correct dipstick.

@billieb Don't add any oil until until you figure out what's wrong. 4666139AA is the original Mopar (Chrysler) dipstick. You don't have to go a dealer to get an OEM, here's an OEM + alternatives: https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/chrysler,2006,town+&+country,3.8l+v6,1432093,engine,oil+dipstick+/+tube,5558

@hixster I order the mopar part and we will see......feels like I am beating a dead horse.....over a 26.5" piece of metal.
