Hey Scotty! Ive always wondered, when changing your oil, is it bad to pre fill the filter? Ive researched on different websites and youtube channels and they all have mixed answers! Some say its good, some say its bad. What do You say Scotty??

It's better for the bearings to do it , and it's easy. Take 10 seconds to pour some oil in it. So if you have nothing to lose, then why not?

(this is of course assuming you don't have a sideways mounting filter)

@imperator Or worse yet, a filter mounted bottom down.

@imperator luckily for me, it just pretty much goes in straight up.

The Motor Oil Geek has some empirical evidence on this: https://youtu.be/zLBgIve1YzY?t=1833
