I have a 2017 Kia Sportage 77k miles, which you have previously answered a question on (told me to get a Toyota). Should have listened. I just changed the spark plugs due to poor idle in park. When changing them, I found a little oil on the electrode and head. None in the threads or wiring. How can I fix this?
Sell it now and buy a Toyota. The rings are going South.
Is your oil level dropping? Is there oily residue in the tailpipe?
Oil is dropping a little and there is only regular black soot on the tailpipe
From your description then I'd say the engine is just starting to burn oil likely due to worn rings. Kias are prone to that kind of problem. All you can really do as long as you own it is to keep an eye on oil use and top up as needed. (For warranty purposes Hyundai/Kia does not consider consumption to be excessive unless it exceeds a quart per 1000 miles, and their much-advertised long engine warranty only applies to the original owner.)
Thank you sir!
