Overheated Civic Si

Hey Scotty and the community!!

I ran my newly purchased 2008 Honda Civic Si (120k miles, manual, no codes) with lower coolant hose off (clamp wasnt on) for about two miles (8 minutes) before I noticed a lot of vapour from the front, while the temperature gauge was showing maximum readout when the vapour started coming out. I didnt look at the gauge before

I put the hose with clamp back on, filled it up with coolant and now it sounds like a vacuum while accelerating at a high rate.

Do you think the engine suffered catastrophic damage? What is your opinion? Keep the car or get rid of it?

Thank you!

I would have a cylinder compression test done on your engine

Holy crap!

If your engine has seized (or starting to), I’m afraid it’s curtains for that Civic!

Can you make a YouTube video & post the link here?

It runs and drives. Just makes some noise it didnt before
