Scotty, my daughter has a 2016 Jeep Wrangler Sport 3.6. with over 63,000 on the clock. Check engine P0302 guy 2 misfire. Friend replaced Ign Coil but same prob. Did compression #2 176 others were 185. Took to dealer in Memphis, did leak test said it needs a new head on left side quoted $3300. That's way out out of line. Did some checking here in Las Vegas, reman head $829 and in stock. What could cost that much? Moving to Vegas at end of month and I'm advising her to tow it and drive the Chevy and get it fixed here. My next door neighbor is a mechanic. I'll see what he'd charge. I told her that the Stealership is not using Vaseline. What do you think??

I don’t think you should throw good money after bad. What’s to say something else won’t break, soon after?

I’d get rid of it as-is, or put in junkyard parts for cheap, and then sell it, while you still can.

A 5yr old 63,000 mile vehicle already needing major engine work should tell you all you need to know about modern FCA products.

Good luck!

These FCA products are the Chevy Chevettes or the early 70s Chevy Vegas of our day.

"This type of code may be caused by a fuel delivery problem, a large vacuum leak, an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) malfunction, or mechanical engine failure, but is most often the result of an ignition system defect resulting in a low or no spark condition."

I would go around on google and look more common causes and do the simple stuff first!!!

If its something major, like the $3000 quoted, I would get rid of it. Lots of scenarios like this, Scotty would say "the guy who checked it is an idiot" or something like that. Remember, the number one way dealers make money is through the service center charging for uneeded repairs or maintenace.

First of all, find yourself a good trustable mechanic. You can find a list of good ones in the FAQ.
