2010 Tahoe with 100k miles
Had this code for a couple weeks now. replaced the gas cap first. did not work, replaced the Evap Canister with OEM AC Delco part and the code is still there. What else can I do to fix it? With the check engine light the remote start does not work plus living in Chicago it gets cold in the winter and we have to do Emissions test. If I replace the Vapor Canister Purge Valve will it work? Please help.
So I got it fixed, mechanic ended up running a new wire from the computer to the Evap canister and it worked. There was a break in the wire somewhere.
Have a mechanic test the EVAP system before throwing part. It can be many things.
I ended up replacing the Purge Valve since the part was cheap and took 10 minutes to replace. Did not help, any way to test the Evap Canister? should I have 12 volts at the plug?
You need a bidirectional scan tool to test the EVAP system.
I suspect the EVAP control valve solenoid is shot.
any way to test it?
