Dear Scotty,
I installed an aftermarket catalytic converter on My 2005 Honda CRV EX AWD with 180k miles after the original one got stolen. Then, the check engine light came up with the code "P1157" and the mechanic told me to change the old oxygen sensor to fix the problem. However, the old sensor is the original and it was working fine with the old catalytic converter with no check engine light ON. Also, it is not damaged or cut.
Do you think I need to change the sensor to get rid of the code? and If I do need to change it, should I change both upstream and downstream sensors together?
Or do you think the problem is not caused by the sensor and it is something else?
Thank you Scotty.
It's not unlikely that a 19-year-old sensor would go bad. It could also be a wiring problem.

I dont think so. Because the check engine light only came the day was the cat. Got stolen. Before that, everything was fine.
Wiring may have been damaged either during the theft or installation of the new converter. Or the O2 sensor was disturbed and failed. Unlike many others there do not seem to be many alternatives for that particular code. I'm sorry you don't like the answer (down vote) but that's just the way it is.
