Hey Scotty, Greetings from Newfoundland! I have a problem with my 2006 Honda Accord I4 5 speed manual:

I was on my way to school one day (I'm an automotive student), and just as I pulled out of my driveway, the check engine light came on. Now, it's a Honda, I'm 19 years old, it currently has 299k on the motor, I just kept going, the light meant nothing to me. I got about 30 or so kilometers when she started limping, and limping bad at 3000rpm. I turned around and nursed it all the way back to the garage. The code she was throwing was "P2646 Rocker Arm Actuator System Performance/Stuck Off Bank 1". They replaced the VVT Solenoid, the oil pressure sensor, and because she started misfiring on a test drive, new coils and plugs. Still to no avail. I was getting annoyed so I paid them for what they did do and took the car back. I cleared the codes using my bluedriver and drove it up the road and there wasn't a hitch. I gave it all she had... and then she limped again. Do you have any suggestions? I know its a 15 year old car with 300k on it but it's my first car and it's the possession I'm the most proud of, I'll be dead and buried before I part ways with that car. Could it be an electrical issue causing it to throw the same code, or could it be an internal problem?

Sorry for a lengthy story but I figured I'd give you some background to go off of. As I said, I'm an automotive student and my professor (who is roughly around your age and has been working on cars for 40+ years) is completely baffled by my issue. So if you can't help me, I don't know what to do.

More often than not that is a mechanical failure of the actuator system unless you got a bad solenoid such as a Chinese aftermarket one

Hey Scotty, thanks for your response! I'll keep that in mind and have a look. I'll see if i can find the receipt for the Actuator and find the name on it. All I can remember is I bought it from NAPA. I should've mentioned the engine bay sustained some water damage the night before. I stupidly didn't have the bonnet completely latched and we had a rain storm that night. Might explain the issue, and the starter giving out, mind you the starter was shot anyway. I was thinking if it wasnt the actuator, it could be the wiring going to it, or even something internal causing the car to trip the code. I'll certainly keep you posted if I fix the car!
