Hi Scotty >>
your the only one that is smart enough to help me out ,, I got a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0 6L some good mechanics in my area told m e I have a Pop Off pressure release valve on my AC to save it from exploding and that it's on the hose line ,, I don't see it anywhere and I looked for and watched so many videos on U Tube none of them tell me ,, watched your video about filling it up with a can and not to after the fact but as I was filling it it popped in the back of the compressor and made a fart / squirted sound and onto my header ,,, can you tell me / show me in a photo where this $20 pop off valve is ??? My ac was working fine thought it was a little low so started to fill it and it popped , so I'm pretty sure everything still works correctly noting is broke or clogged just need to change the pop release valve ,, every photo and video I look up nothing shows it and living in Arizona in this extreme heat AC's get over worked and higher pressure so I've heard they have these valve to save your whole system from catastrophic failure !! please help and reply asap as it's still 110+ here and I'm in dyer need of my ac working again
From my experience a pop-up valves are almost always built into the compressor itself
Never use those cans of refrigerant from an auto parts store.
When it comes to ac systems, unless you know exactly what you're doing, take it to an automotive ac specialist for repairs. It is worth the price.
The small refrigerant cans are fine as long as they are pure R134a and contain no sealer. I usually get them at WalMart or Tractor Supply since those stores seem to have the best prices (under $5 for a 12 oz. can.)
