Pontiac G6 steering wheel shakes, pulsates, gets mildly stuck/sticky at times.

Hi Scotty/everyone. I have a 2007 Pontiac G6 4-cylinder with 161k miles. Steering wheel was shaking/pulsating at times even when in neutral with engine idling at a standstill. Also happens while driving.  So I replaced the steering torque sensor myself. Problem persisted. Had the torque sensor calibrated at my local mechanic. Problem was gone for a week, but now came back. Any ideas on what else it could be?  This issue had a recall years ago, but I missed it.  Thank you

Just to rule out the obvious, have you checked the engine mounts?

Also, have you tried taking it in to the dealer to get the recall work done? Have they refused?

Hi inThrustWeTrust, the recall has expired. 97% of the time, there is no pulsating. Works fine. When it does pulsate, it looks like this video even at idle. My engine idles very smooth, it's some sort of electrical issue, it has electric steering. All research I've done, they say replace the torque sensor. - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7qWib-4Eyzc

@g6dude
Odds are it’s the EPS module which has gone bad. Hyundai had a very similar problem.
Do you know which part exactly was the recall for?

@inthrustwetrust
To my knowledge, the torque sensor was recalled. Based on all the research I did. OK I'll look into the EPS module. Thank you !
