Purchasing a Toyota Echo, good or bad idea?

Hi, I currently own a 02 Accord LX with 196k miles and has quite a few problems, nothing major or unmanageable. Lots of cosmetic issues and a few tripped codes. I plan on selling it for a quick buck and putting the money into buying a manual 04 Toyota Echo coupe with supposed 103k miles for 2,500$. It's seems to be a good price and seems to look in great condition but won't know for sure until I check it out. I want a car that will LAST, and throwing a small amount into it here and there, maybe upgraded stereo system that doesn't break the bank, add insulation into it, tint? Random things. Would it be a car worth getting??? I do keep up with maintenance.

Forgot to mention it IS a private seller.

Scotty hates those Echos and not all Toyotas are made equal. Cheap and not great cars https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCQxNzP8e3M

Cheap, small, basic transportation 4dr sedan, 1.5L I4 engine, semi-reliable. Underpowered, handles OK, but nothing special, seats not comfortable, not quiet in traffic or highway. Very few sold so you don't see many.

It's like a small, grandma car for a small person. Over 5'10" won't fit.

In North America, nobody wanted it, last production 2005. But because it has a still-used drive train, most parts still easily available.

I'm thinking you won't be happy with it.
