[Solved] radiator loosing water to reservoir

2004 Honda 120k miles.

I am losing water from radiator to reservoir.  After I drive to work a couple days (15 miles round trip)  I have to add water to the radiator, remove water from recover  reservoir as is filling up.  I had a head gasket leak (bubbling in radiator) and used Barr's head gasket repair which seems to have worked.  I no longer get the bubbling in the radiator. I did the head gasket leak test and the fluid stayed blue, which indicates that the head gasket no longer is leaking.  I replaced radiator cap with an OEM cap (twice).

No oil i radiator and no water in oil.

What else could be causing the water loss?

I plan to replace the head gasket this spring, but it is too cold now to work on the car now.

Thanks,  Ted

maybe trapped air is still working its way out. How many times have you topped it up?

Been a couple of weeks. I think I will borrow the head gasket leak tester and try testing again. I do have the bowl to attach to top of radiator and ran it awhile bleeding the air out. Was making sure I didn't miss anything. Thanks.

I'm with Joe on this one.  When I put in a new radiator, I had to top it up about 6 times before it settled down.
