Scotty, I'm looking to replace my radiator on my 2006 Toyota Sienna XLE with a 3.3L (timing belt) engine as preventative maintenance so the transmission cooler lines don't rot out and break the transmission, as it's a common problem and often occurs without warning. However, the problem is WHICH radiator is better? I found a Koyo brand radiator that is made in Japan for far less than the Denso or Duralast made in China ones. But the Koyo doesn't come with a lifetime warranty. Which should I buy?
Koyo is an excellent brand. With radiators it doesn't really matter what you get as all they are is crimped aluminum. I wouldn't be replacing a radiator as preventive maintenance. They can last a while and I would just replace them when they need to be replaced. Replacing them earlier doesn't prevent the transmission cooler lines from rusting out. They are also exposed to salt spray. Just keep an eye on them and if they start leaking transmission fluid then replace them.
