2012 Nissan Titan, 168,000, automatic, 2wd, no codes. Question: occasionally and not all the time but randomly when sitting at idle the truck will suddenly begin to overheat. This only happens in the summer with AC on. The idea it overheats as stated in itself is not the issue but the randomness of it. I can go for weeks months no issue then out of the blue bang it starts to overheat. I usually turn off the AC turn on the heater and drive to get the truck to immediately begin to cool down then it works fine and normal till it randomly happens again. I have change the fluid a couple times and yes it’s full to the full max on the full tank with a 50/50 premixed solution as well as changed the thermostat twice and have replaced most of the umpteen water cooling hoses in the truck. I will say there are a couple small water hoses underneath the intake nearer the bottom front of the motor above the oil filter that have not been changed as I can’t find these hoses as they are very small and formed. Any idea why the truck randomly overheats and cannot be made to happen or recreated. FYI my son in law has same truck only 2014 and same issue. Thank you for your time and keep up the good work. Much enjoy your videos.
If it doesn't add idle only I would suspect the cooling fans aren't working correctly. Especially if it never overheats when you're in a highway going 60. When you have 60 mph wind cooling the vehicle and you don't even need fans
Thank you Mr. Kilmer.
Keep up the good work and being you.
