Rattle in 2025 Honda Civic hybrid

I just purchased the same car in February and have the same rattling noise but coming from the top of the passenger side door. It started the day after I purchased it. Did you ever get any resolution from the dealership? I took video of the noise and brought it to Honda's service dept. They said they would take a look but couldn't replicate the noise so I requested a ride along with a tech and showed him where it was coming from. It rattled during our ride and he reported back to his manager. They thought it was a loose nut in the door panel. They tightened it but the car still rattled. Then they had a field engineer come out who tested the door panel with special equipment to detect the rattling. They determined it was the door actuator (the gadget that opens/closes the door with the keyless entry). They replaced the part but the car still rattles. It's been 6 weeks of this nonsense going back and forth so the service dept had me file a complaint with the corporate office. They are in the process of reviewing my case and will hopefully decide to buy back the car. I've had a loaner this entire time and refuse the drive the car until it's fixed.

I doubt that they'll buy back the car for a such a minor problem. In the worst case they can just replace the whole door.

Parts can be hard to come by these days though. I think you'll just have to be patient.

@imperator looks like the last update I posted was in March, it's now been 10 weeks of going back and forth trying to fix the rattling noise with no success. Today Honda bought the car back. They said it will have to go to auction, I feel sorry for whoever buys it!

Wow. I'm guessing they're gonna sell the car for almost new , inflated, price. I hope you will be able find a replacement to your satisfaction with the money they gave you.

@imperator yup it's still sitting in their lot for sale at 2k higher than what they sold it to me for. I bought a Subaru Impreza instead, I'm done with Honda, when we returned the 2025 Civic the manager was initially trying to work with us in swapping the car out for another 2025 Civic Hybrid Touring but we test drove the replacement car and it made the same rattling noise. I took a video and sent it to him and said I just wanted to do a refund instead and then things went south. He was very rude and at one point I left the showroom crying so my husband handled the rest. They can't admit that they are selling a faulty product and don't know how to fix it. Really unfortunate but I'm happy to be done with this saga.

That is unfortunate. Thanks for the update.
