Hello,
Yes I know, I drove only French cars (Citroen/Renault) and they cant last for too long. After saying that, here is my question.
My Renault Megane 2013 1.5DCi (250,000km) started with a new problem (After ECU reprograming, 900$). You step the gas, usually uphill (I live in the Golan Heights) and suddenly the RPM drops for 2-3 seconds.
If the RPM is above 3000, I sometimes get (not always) the familiar red alert [stop engine]. I am used to it, after driving Citroen for 20 years and it vanishes after few seconds. I went to two mechanics. They both found a code related to the common rail pressure valve yet are both uncertain about the cause. One even sent me to the dealer but a visit to the dealer will cost more than the car (here put scotty laughing horse). If you can address this kind of phenomenon, I will highly appreciate that.
Cheers
Yaron
Like if it's not that hard to replace that valve I would just change the valve and pray that's it cuz yes French cars are rolling piles of crap as they age that's why they haven't sold them in the United States for many decades
