Repair or Replace 2011 Subarau Outback?

I was just informed my 2011 Outback with 62,000 miles needs a head gasket and timing belt replacement. Total for the work at the dealer is $4,300. So, at 12 years should I repair it or get something new. Normally, I probably wouldn't ask but with car prices so inflated, I'm thinking repair?

Any thoughts? Thank you in advance.

It doesn't seem worth putting over $4000 into a 12-year-old Subaru. If the car is otherwise in good condition I'd try finding an independent mechanic who can do it cheaper.

Subaru of that vintage had issues with head gaskets. It's an opposing engine which means the engine has to come out so $4k is not necessarily high but I agree with shopping around. Bear in mind your living on borrowed time. A leaking head makes it worth nothing. Put the 4 grand into it and you have a good working car that you can then sell or keep for another couple of years. Running it's worth at least 10 grand in today's market so you will always get your money back.
