What's good everyone. 2001 Honda Civic LX 5-Speed cheers to over 180K miles. Which is the best option when it comes to a manual replace or rebuild? Didnt find anything in search but im done with budget modding it my last being 2 inch pipe to the back and a 4 inch Magnaflow muffler now im focused on the tranny because it'll be awhile I get a new vehicle. At over 180K miles it still runs greats the clutch is near the end of its life (according to mechanics) but it still works fine and will have replaced soon. Which option is best? Fifth gear synchronizer has been out for a year

swap in a used unit.

Bet I found one online at a salvage yard in Jacksonville North Carolina came out of a 2002 Honda Civic LX and has a price tag of $300 which in my opinion isnt bad

It's probably in worse shape than yours. I'd just get it rebuilt at a professional transmission shop.  You probably just need only seals and synchros.

A used transmission should be alright if they warranty it.
I wouldn’t rebuilt cause it can easily cost more than the car, and 90% of shops don’t even know how to do it properly.
